Ben focuses his practice in Estate Planning, Estate Administration, and Business Law. He helps his clients develop resourceful ideas in managing their estate or business, being respectful of their wishes. Ben is a problem solver and he enjoys helping people find practical solutions to difficult problems during times of need.
In 1990, Ben graduated from the United States Merchant Marine Academy in Kings Point, New York with a B.S. in Marine Transportation. He spent a year working on seafaring vessels as a third mate. He then attended Loyola University School of Law, in New Orleans, earning a Juris Doctor degree in 1994. After law school, he practiced primarily maritime law in Louisiana and Florida. He also spent fourteen years in the naval reserve.
After Ben and his family moved to Hickory in 2002, he began practicing Estate Planning, Estate Administration, Business Law, and Real Estate Law. Ben joined Heritage Law in May 2019 and works closely with Anna Winger, Jesse Bone, and Rush Simmons. He is a member of the North Carolina State Bar and Catawba County Bar Association.
Ben is married to Isabelle, a geriatric psychiatrist, who cares for seniors in nursing homes in the Hickory area. They live in Conover and have two teenage children. On the weekends, they enjoy mountain biking and visiting the nearby mountains to hike and ski.
