Anna H. Winger
Attorney
Practice Areas
Anna focuses her practice on estate planning, probate and business law. Before returning home to North Carolina and joining Nancy Huegerich to form Huegerich & Winger, she practiced in Montana where she concentrated on estate planning and administration, probate, business law, civil litigation and bankruptcy work. Anna chose to enter the practice of law because she enjoys meeting people and learning about the history of their families and businesses. She was drawn to the practice of estate and business planning because it allowed her to interact with clients on a personal level. It also allowed her to help them with planning for their unique long-term goals and needs. She often sees clients during difficult times and makes a point to listen, ask questions and let them know that their voice, needs, goals and desires are being heard. She is energized by doing work that makes a positive difference in the quality of her clients’ lives and their ability to successfully move through difficult transitions.
Anna is a Magna Cum Laude graduate of North Carolina State University with a bachelor’s degree in business management and a concentration in finance. She received her law degree from Vermont Law School where she worked for their legal clinic helping indigent clients with a wide variety of issues that included both civil and criminal matters.
She is a member of the Catawba and Watauga County Bar Associations; the Estate Planning & Fiduciary Law Section of the North Carolina State Bar Association; WealthCounsel; the American Bar Association in the Real Property, Probate and Trust section; and the Financial Planning Association. Further, Ms. Winger is a member of the Pro Bono Services Committee through the North Carolina Bar Association and Co-Editor of the 2018 North Carolina Estate Administration Manual. Her pro bono practice includes preparation of wills and powers of attorney for low-income clients through the Lawyer on the Line Program.
Anna is licensed to practice law in North Carolina and Montana, and is a Certified Financial Planning® professional. She lives in Boone with her husband, John, their three children, and their Border Collie Mix, Archie. In her free time Anna enjoys spending time with her family at their family farm in Alexander County, gardening, sewing, traveling and hearing live music of any style.
